Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need a Financial Advisor or Financial Planner?
We believe everyone needs a financial advisor. The internet can help you find information, but it takes a professional to know how it applies to your situation. Additionally, you don’t know what you don’t know. If you’re making important financial decisions — about retirement, inheritance, taxes, or investments — working with a trusted advisor can help you make more confident and informed choices.
What services do you offer?
Our practice primarily centers on comprehensive financial planning which involves investment planning, retirement income planning, tax planning strategies, generational wealth planning, income and asset protection, health and long-term care planning, Medicare and Social Securit planning and cash-flow/liability management. For clients who do not need or want that relationship, we also provide an asset management relationship.
How are you compensated?
Our compensation depends on how you choose to work with us and the services provided. Regardless of the engagement, we are committed to transparent and open communication about our compensation, so you fully understand the costs, services, and value associated with our relationship before moving forward.
How do I become a client?
Start by scheduling an introductory meeting. The first meeting is at our expense, which allows us to get to know you and your situation. We encourage you to bring anything you feel is important to discuss.
What should I expect in the first meeting?
Our first meeting is focused on getting to know one another and determining whether we're the right fit for your needs, goals, and expectations. We'll discuss your current financial situation, your priorities, and any concerns you may have about the future. If it appears we can add value, we may ask you to gather additional documents and information so we can develop a personalized proposal. During our next meeting, we'll review our recommendations and discuss the ways we may work together to help you achieve your financial goals and priorities.
What’s the cost for financial planning?
Planning and consulting engagements typically start at $3,000 with pricing based on complexity and scope.
Do you help with tax planning?
Tax planning is an important component of the comprehensive financial planning process. While we do not prepare tax returns or provide tax advice as CPAs, we help identify strategies that may improve tax efficiency, reduce lifetime tax exposure, and preserve more wealth for you and future generations. When appropriate, we work closely with your CPA and other professional advisors to help ensure that your tax, investment, retirement, and estate planning strategies are aligned with your overall financial goals. If needed, we can also introduce you to one of our trusted tax professionals.
Do you offer estate planning services?
Estate planning plays an important role in preserving and transferring wealth according to your wishes. While we are not attorneys and cannot draft legal estate documents, we work closely with your estate planning attorney to help ensure your legal documents, beneficiary designations, and financial strategies are coordinated and aligned with your overall financial plan. If you do not currently have an estate planning attorney, we can introduce you to one of our trusted professional partners.
How do you conduct client meetings?
We work with clients across the U.S. using virtual meetings and secure digital tools. We’re available for in-person meetings at our office locations, as needed.
What happens if my advisor is unavailable?
Our team-based approach ensures continuity and support. You’ll always have a point of contact and a trusted advisor who knows your plan.
